What are the differences between Traditional and Modern Astrology?
Many people tend to think that all astrology is based on the same principles. There are, however, both philosophical and technical differences between Traditional and Modern astrology.
Primarily, Traditional astrology draws heavily from the outer world and has a fate or circumstance premise whereas Modern astrology focuses on the inner world and is based on a psychological premise.
Not surprisingly, a traditional worldview drives Traditional astrology. The entire cosmos is viewed as a single, unified Being. Everywhere is imbued with patterns and meaning that are connected by spiritual bonds and influences.
Modern astrology is person-centred astrology whereas the Traditional uses a broader palette in using the concept of the life circumstances surrounding a person such as their health, wealth, parents, children, friends and partners etc. Put another way, Modern astrology indicates how people think, feel, react et cetera, whereas Traditional astrology is event-oriented. It focuses on what will happen and when it will happen.
The Modern system is a relative newcomer to astrological practices, as many earlier writings were lost and astrology was re-directed post 1870.
Cindy Naunton was trained by Robert Zoller, a key revivalist of the Traditional system, and she finds that the Traditional approach provides the results and answers that clients are seeking.
There are four main types of Traditional astrology: Electional, Horary, Natal and Mundane.
Cindy Naunton has a long history of Natal astrology practice. She cleverly combines this experience with a solid understanding of the Modern system linked with traditional methods to deliver a service that is reflective of today’s society, its needs and worldview.
